A little bit about me…
Originally from a small mountain town in Southern California, I was raised to have a strong connection to nature and to the body. I was taught to value strength both physically and mentally - to always challenge the limits of what I could accomplish and to encourage others to do the same. I developed an instinct for guiding others through physical experiences or challenges as the daughter of the local cross-country coach.
When I developed a sudden chronic injury that forced me to step away from long-distance running, I turned that energy and determination toward yoga - starting with a summer in college spent working on the island of Catalina, off the coast of California. From there, my practice grew, and over the course of 10 years I developed a need for deeper understanding and mastery of yoga, as well as a deep appreciation for the healing possibilities it holds. During that time, I also earned my bachelor’s degree, studying Interpersonal Communication as well as Leadership in a small town of North Dakota, where I strengthened my commitment to challenging myself intellectually and learned to embrace the concept of uncertainty.
I then found myself seeking the warmth and beauty that brought me to Texas. Since arriving in the Hill Country several years ago, I have become deeply in tuned with nature and the cycles of life, as well as the connection between all beings, past and present. It is here that I truly began finding the paths to self-regulation and acceptance. I have made lifelong learning an important goal of mine and continue to expand my knowledge of reality and understanding of others every day. I place high importance on continuous self-discovery and development.
I recently came home from the island of Cozumel, Mexico, where I became officially certified to pass on this practice. I’ve spent every day since teaching private, curated classes to my loved ones so I may continue to gain mastery of this guiding role, no matter where I find my student along their path.
This life has always called me toward the pursuit of helping those in need. Sparrow Slowga is what that pursuit looks like for me now, and I welcome any opportunity to share the healing, empowerment, and wisdom I have worked so hard to reach - so that others may go on to more easily access it within themselves.
